One of the most destructive types of ants, and one of the most common are Carpenter Ants (flying ants). Just like termites, they can create nests or tunnels in wood, in and around your home. Much more than just a nuisance, they need to be exterminated, fast, to avoid permanent structural damage to your home. If you live in a wooded area, you should inspect your property for nearby nests in rotting wood and have them eliminated.
Fire Ants nest in the ground around your home, they rarely venture inside your home, unless you have dead animals or rotting meat to attract them. None the less, you may experience painful bites if you step in or rest near an outside mound. These nests should be eliminated at the source.
Little Black Ants (sugar ants in America, pavement ants, pharaoh ants) these varieties are the most common type found in your kitchen, bathroom or other areas of your home. These colonies spread fast, so it’s important to treat the nests at their source. This means sending a pesticide back to the queen using the worker ants to deliver it.
